TRYOUTS

TRYOUT CAMP #1  
The 1st tryout date will be Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 8 am - Noon at the Cloverdale Coverall, 176th and 62nd st, Cloverdale. The cost for the tryout camp will be $40.00. Please pre-register on the tryouts page.



The 2nd tryout date will be Saturday, December 9th, 2023 from 9 am - Noon at the Poirier Forum, 618 Poirier St, Coquitlam. If you attend and pay for the 1st camp the 2nd is free, otherwise it will be $40.00. It is recommended to plan to attend both camps as it will allow the coaches the most opportunity to see you!

Meet Hannah Dawkins - Head coach
Player background 
  • Currently playing on a Sr ladies B team with Cloverdale Fury. 
  • Played minor years with the Cloverdale Fury 2001B team. 
  • Played on a US A travel ball team based out of Bellingham during my grade 10 and 11 years of school. 
  • In 2017 my club team (Fury 01) won Districts, Provincials, and Westerns.
  • Positions played were pitcher, first base and third base.

2016 to present – Assistant Coach of Cloverdale Fury 2006A

Meet Sophie Hepner - Assistant coach
Player background 
  • Current student-athlete on the University of Victoria Vikes women’s softball team.
  • Player for the Sr ladies’ B team with Cloverdale Fury.
  • Played minor ball with Fury 2003B, and played with Fury 2001B before that.
  • In 2022, was a pick-up for Fury 2004B at Westerns where we won first place at Westerns.
  • In 2022, my team (Fury 03) claimed first place at Districts and third at Provincials.
  • Played with the USA A-level travel ball team, Powerhouse, during grades 8-10.
  • My team, Fury 2001B, claimed first place at Districts, Provincials, and Westerns in 2017.
  • Positions played: pitcher and utility.

Meet Maddie Akiyama - Assistant coach

Coaching background
  • 2019 to PRESENT: Assistant coach for Cloverdale Fury 2010B
  • 2022: Part-time volunteer assistant coach for Cloverdale Fury 2010A

Player background 
    • I am currently a freshman on the Douglas College Royals softball team.
    • I will be playing my final minor ball season on Cloverdale Fury 2006A.
    • Previous teams include Cloverdale Fury 05A & B, and Surrey Storm 05A.
    • 2021 and 2022 I had the opportunity to play for Canda Futures.
    • When playing with Cloverdale Fury 2006A in 2022 we placed 2nd in Canada Cup and 5th in the Canadian Nationals. That same season with Fury 05B we placed 1st in Districts and 2nd in both Provincials and Westerns.
    • I have had the opportunity to play with many other teams over the past few seasons including Cloverdale Fury 06B and 03B, Victoria Devils 06A, and Okanogan Elite U17B.
    • I have experience playing all positions throughout my rep ball career, especially over my last two seasons. My main positions are OF/1st/UTIL.

    • 2021 to 2023 Yale Secondary School.
    • 2023 to PRESENT Psychology student at Douglas College.
